1. Waikuku Beach

It’s a little drive out of Christchurch, but damn, if it isn’t so worth it. Nothing quite beats watching the waves drift slowly in and out of the shore, sound tracking the sun kissing New Zealand goodnight. Talking of kissing, that wouldn’t be a bad setting for a sign of affection to your significant other now, would it? You can never go wrong with a beach in most aspects of life, and that definitely applies to love.

2. Christchurch Botanic Gardens

What better way is there to spend a day out in Wellington with your loved one? Waltz through the shrubbery and admire the beautiful plants at trees that never fail to conjure up those feelings of love in us all.

Victoria Square is always a truly beautiful place to walk through, with life around you at all times, fountains flowing and places to sit and watch it all. All these are great ingredients for a romantic wander with your partner.

Hagley Park is the largest open space in the centre of Christchurch, and has been open as a public park since 1885. There’s plenty to do here that will drive up those romantic feelings. For starters, there’s a wonderful lake to gaze into as you walk by and, if you’re feeling up to it, you could even take a yacht out on the waters with your loved one!

5. Corsair Bay

A wonderful time is just waiting for you over at Corsair Bay. You’ll be treated to stunning clear waters, grassy knolls to take in some sun and have a lie down, and shores to paddle in. Yep, Corsair Bay is an idyllic spot just made for those romantic day out.

Port Hills are a stunning mountain range and ancient volcano in the Canterbury region of Christchurch. It’s one of the quintessential spots around the city to soak in the true beauty of New Zealand.
