The FIFA World Cup 2022 takes place in Doha, Qatar from November 20 to December 18. The 22nd edition of the competition will see 32 teams compete in eight different groups, from every corner of the globe. With a 10-hour time difference between New Zealand and Qatar, it means it’s morning for us when most of the matches kick off. However, here’s some places to watch the World Cup 2022 in Christchurch.
1. Robbie’s Riccarton
Get yourself up at the crack of dawn because this sports bar is showing all of the World Cup matches from 8am on match days. Perfect place to grab a breakfast and a chat with a few mates before work.
📍 87 Riccarton Road, Christchurch, New Zealand
2. Pegasus Arms
Our friends at this old-school tavern on Oxford Terrace are also showing World Cup matches. Keep an eye on their Facebook page for times.
📍14 Oxford Terrace, Christchurch Central City, Christchurch 8011, New Zealand
3. Online
Football fans can watch the matches, under the table at work, on the Sky Sports Go app. Otherwise, Sky Sports is the official service provider for the FIFA World Cup 2022 in New Zealand. However, you need a Sky Sports membership or Sky Box to watch.
