Hong Kong Airport is teaming up with Cathay Pacific, Hong Kong Airlines and HK Express, to give away half a million free round-trip flights to Hong Kong, from a range of destinations worldwide. Of this, $400 million worth of free flights will be from New Zealand.
This initiative is part of the World Of Winners Hello Hong Kong campaign, sponsored by Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) – to encourage global travellers to visit China after more than three years of COVID-19 restrictions, to boost tourism in the region.
The campaign launches in three phases. The Southeast Asia giveaway begins in March, followed by Mainland China in April, and other places like Australia and New Zealand in May. This means that Kiwi’s hoping for a free holiday must wait until early May to enter the competition. Each winner will receive one Economy Class round-trip ticket to Hong Kong.
The Hong Kong Tourism Board said at least one million “Hong Kong Goodies” consumption vouchers will be given to inbound tourists. These vouchers can be used at more than 16,000 outlets across Hong Kong. This includes free welcome drinks at participating bars, restaurants and hotels, as well as cash vouchers to redeem on retail offerings, transport and other attractions.
How to enter
Participants can sign up for a free membership on the Cathay Pacific website to enter the giveaway. In May, entrants must sign in using their membership and answer three questions correctly. Members can only submit one entry. The first few entrants with correct answers will be awarded the free flights tickets to Hong Kong.
Additionally, entrants must be a resident of New Zealand and aged 18 or older to enter the giveaway. Visit World Of Winners campaign website for more information.
