This is going to be amazing.
If you’re stuck for ideas on things to do over the festive period in Christchurch, don’t fret.
Let us point you to “Ebb And Flow” at The Arts Centre’s Pūmanawa space. Between December 14-20, you’ll find the work of Ōtautahi artist Kate McLeod on display.
Kate McLeod’s work is unique. She is a visual artist, creating her work through paintings in oil and acrylic and creating assemblage through recyclable items. You’ll also catch lots of copper and gold foil spread out in her work.
She has previously displayed her work all around Europe, at venues like the St. Chappelle in Paris and the Tate Modern in London.
An extract from her website bio reads: “Kate’s gestural abstraction focuses on an attunement to the rhythms of life. Her work has a sense of rushing, fluid movement that invites an emotional response from the audience.
“Grounded by her deep fascination with colour, each work is a performance that captures a fleeting moment, a memory of a feeling.”
And the spectacular colours Kate McLeod creates will be on display, completely free in Christchurch over Christmas. So, it’s essential that you come down in support of this wonderful local artist. We can’t wait to see her work in the flesh!
