Feel like getting merry?
We might have just the party for you. It’s rolling into Christchurch on November 28. [Featured Image: Laurent Peignault, Unsplash].
Christmas kicks off in Christchurch this weekend with a full-on parade, thanks to the folks at Christchurch City Mission. During the day, the classic 10-metre steel Christmas tree will also go up in the city.
It signals a gift of thanks to everyone for their work and support throughout this difficult year. You’ll catch it towering over the bridge of remembrance with thousands of starts and lights covering it.
The big family party kicks off at 11am, with the parade beginning at the Margaret Mahy playground. Santa and the big parade will then lead the crowds to the bridge of remembrance to marvel at the new tree.
This launch, hosted by Jason Gunn, starts at midday, and includes live bands, choirs, face painting, costume prizes, stalls, Santa appearances and much more.
Essentially, it’s the perfect way to start your Christmas celebrations with a lovely family day out. If you think this is for you, then be sure to had down this Saturday, November 28.
